Reporting to the group publisher, the editor will be comfortable working with freelance writers and/or contributors to research and develop news stories and features of vital interest to their respective industry. Print, e-news, websites, events, Twitter – to you these are all just different ways to connect and engage your audience.
Building relationships with the various markets that make up your readership and/or the representatives from major industry associations and suppliers comes naturally. While you make an excellent team member, some of your best work is done independently.
You will bring:
- Minimum two years’ experience in editing, writing or journalism, preferably in manufacturing journalism.
- Top-notch writing, photography, research and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort and/or experience with all forms of digital communication, including websites, social media and video.
- Great organizational abilities as well as excellent computer skills.
- Outgoing personality with a high degree of comfort in social settings.
- Strong work ethic and ability to adapt in a constantly evolving publishing business.
- Knowledge of the manufacturing sector is an asset.
- Valid driver’s licence and access to a personal vehicle required.

Business Media Sales Manager
Print, web, events, sponsorship, video – this senior media sales opportunity at Annex Business Media has it all for the right entrepreneurial professional. We are Canada’s largest independent business-to-business media company with over 40 titles, and are establishing deeper roots in our existing Quebec markets. As a result, we are looking for a proactive and experienced ad sales professional in the Montreal area to grow three established brands in the industrial and resource markets.
Working closely with your Quebec-based editorial partner and counterparts among our national magazines, you will take ownership of these three brands and drive their success.
In this role, you will be expected to:
- Actively prospect for and develop new business opportunities and products throughout the Quebec market.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
- Develop and present strategic multi-platform strategies and programs for new and existing clients.
- Attain and/or surpass sales targets.
- Plan, execute and participate at trade shows and industry events.
- Work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- Work closely with the Quebec-based editor in identifying and capturing new opportunities.
You will bring:
- Post-secondary education combined with a minimum five years’ media sales experience.
- Exceptional French written and verbal communication skills.

Vous possédez:
- Une formation post-secondaire alliée à un minimum de cinq ans d’expérience en ventes pour des médias.
- Une compétence exceptionnelle en français aussi bien écrit que parlé.
- Une compétence en communication verbale anglaise de même qu’en lecture.
- La capacité de travailler de façon professionnelle et intègre.
- Une attitude positive et un intérêt marqué pour les nouveaux medias.
- Une aptitude à vous organiser et à porter une attention spéciale aux details.
